On July 22nd in the most likely of all places to hold a sports tournament (outside Canary Wharf tube station), 70 or so London bartenders joined forces to compete in the ultimate test of athleticism, mockery skills, rum laybacks and yes, beach volleyball. The day began with timid attempts to get the ball over the net, proceeding with aggressive competition and all the romanticism of true bartender team spirit. Finally the day ended with Drunken Monkey taking the overall winning trophy, only just beating Big Easy and Sophie Mackay of course limping home.
